The Odeimin Runners Club engaged in an online film workshop, with Philip Hoffman of the Film Farm, in which we created three short films. Using 16mm Bolex film cameras and process cinema methodologies, we learned how to incorporate plant materials to hand process film. We engaged in a process of creating phytograms - and even “mammothograms” - that enacted cultural protocols and the sharing of knowledge regarding the use of plants and other organic materials. We incorporated these images into our films, as a means by which these life forms continue to live and impact our moving images. The film process from start to finish was generously supported by donations of equipment and processing materials through the Film Farm as well as the continuous support and guidance provided by Phil.
